Specialty Events at CAL

Specialty Events occur every month at CAL Sports Academy we offer a variety of specialty events in the sport of basketball, volleyball, soccer, and performance training. These specialty events are geared to help our youth athletes utilize, practice, and strengthen what they’ve learned in our classes, clinics, and training. Players fine tune their skills to keep them on top of their game while, most importantly, having fun!

February 11 – 17

 GAME STRATEGY SCRIMMAGES (SATURDAY 17, 1:30p to 3:30p) This 2 hour co-ed intermediate/advanced clinic starts with a dynamic warm up and stretch.  The players are then divided into mini teams of 2 on 2 or 3 on 3, scrimmaging while we address teachable moments regarding strategic elements of the game.  The second hour culminates in an end game of 5 on 5.  Register here
  

Beginner Basketball Specialty Clinic with Coach Dean (Saturday’s 3:30p to 5:00p): Come join Coach Dean for 90 minutes of fun and beginner-level basketball skills and drills! In this clinic, Coach Dean will address the fundamentals of the game to help your child develop the foundational skill set necessary to begin playing the game of basketball. High School Basketball Workouts (8th Graders are welcome), Sunday, February 18, 1:00p – 3:00p: These workouts will focus on key fundamentals: ball handling, passing, shooting, offensive and defensive techniques incorporating controlled scrimmages for players to practice the skills in game situations.  We strive to develop players at all levels of play by building and improving their skills, confidence, fitness, initiative and a sense of teamwork.  Register here

  

Small Group Training (Tuesday or Saturdays) is for your boys and girls with intermediate/advanced skills, the training is designed to provide more individual attention to each player.  Weeks will be focused on different techniques such as creating off the dribble, offensive movement concepts and strengthening basketball IQ to enhance player skills in order to face tougher competition.  Register for Tuesday or Register for Saturdays

February 18 – 24
