April Events at CAL

Specialty Events occur every month at CAL Sports Academy. We offer a variety of clinics or tournaments that are geared to help our young athletes utilize, practice, and strengthen what they’ve learned in our classes and training. Players fine tune their skills to keep them on top of their game while, most importantly, having fun!

Coach Corey’s Small Group Training Sessions (Int/Adv) – Mondays (8:00pm – 9:00pm) and Fridays (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

This co-ed intermediate/advanced small group training is designed to provide more individual attention to each player.  Each session will focus on different techniques such as creating off the dribble, offensive movement concepts and strengthening basketball IQ to enhance player skills in order to face tougher competition. MAXIMUM OF 8 PLAYERS

Coach Corey’s Small Group Training – April 4th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Coach Corey will be having a Pop Up Small Group Training Workout on April 4th from 6:00-7:30 pm. Coach Corey will provide high level instruction and emphasis on ball handling, dribbling, passing, offense and scoring, shooting, & play making. Players will receive both instruction & intense high rep skill training to improve their basketball skills. This is the perfect clinic for players in grade in 5th-8th grade. This is a great opportunity to learn more of Coach Corey’s proven concepts. MAXIMUM OF 8 PLAYERS.

Jump Training Clinic – April 4th from 7:00p – 8:00p

This clinic will give players the opportunity to increase their verticality. Athletes will learn techniques to become more explosive by strengthening their quads with our strengthen and conditioning coach, Stefan. This clinic is great for both basketball and volleyball players.

April Serving Clinic – April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd from 7:00p – 7:30p

The CAL Sports Academy Serving Clinic is designed to aid players of all levels perfect their serving ability.  Beginner players will learn the mechanics and motions of serving.  Intermediate players will get repetition and correction of serving techniques.  Advanced and Elite players will be given the opportunity to create an arsenal of different serves including jump floats, jump serves (top spin), drop serves and more.  One of the most important aspects of volleyball is serving.  In order for play to start, serves need to be made.  In order to beat higher level teams, serves are used to create defensive opportunities.  Come out for the chance to enhance your serving technique and control!

April Hitting Clinic – April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd from 7:30p – 8:00p

Coach Corey’s Complete Player Workout – April 10th, 17th, and 24th from 8:00pm – 9:30pm

Our Total Game Tune Up clinic is a great opportunity for athletes who want to perfect their game. This clinic will focus on the different aspects of the game such as shooting, ball handling, defense, and much more. Players will learn the importance of being a two-way player. This clinic is great for players in 5th grade and up.

Coach Corey’s Shooting Workout – April 18th and 25th from 8:00pm – 9:30pm

Coach Corey will focus strictly on shooting, starting with stationary hand positioning drills and progress into various game concepts from the perimeter. Players will also be forced to apply the concepts taught in class during control scrimmage sessions. This is a great opportunity to learn Coach Corey’s proven techniques!

Coach Corey’s Spring Break Workouts – April 17th, 18th, 19th, 22nd

Coach Corey will be having Spring Break Workouts! This is a great opportunity for the athletes to learn more of Coach Corey’s proven concepts. There will be a morning workout (Offensive Skill Development) from 9:00-11:00 am which will focus on the complete player. There will also be an afternoon Shooting workout from 11:00-1:00 pm which will focus on shooting. We are offering a combo package so you can register for both classes. Coach Tim’s Small Group Training – Every Tuesday in May

Coach Tim has specifically designed workouts and drills for each group to advance in their volleyball skills.  These groups are for players that want to participate in Club Volleyball programs.  Each week will provide new challenges to push our athletes to become the best.  At the beginning of each month, each player will receive a goal sheet to fill out.  After each month players will receive individual evaluations to help them understand where they fall skill-wise for specific volleyball skills.
