We are proud to congratulate Mia Leonard on her recent success and being named as one of Suburban One Sports Featured Athletes.

Mia is a captain on the varsity girls basketball team at Cheltenham High School, as well as a member of CAL Sports Academy’s girls high school AAU team.

Mia has been with us at CAL for two years now and has worked tirelessly to become the player and leader she is today.

The transformation from quiet and timid player with a raw skill set, into on and off-court leader with a polished low-post presence was not an easy one. Mia worked as hard as anyone on the team to reach the level of success she has ascertained now.

Two years of hard work in our gym at CAL and playing basketball for her school has enabled Mia to make the leap from a tall young athlete with an unsure feel for the game, to a decisive, strong willed center that plays an integral part in any teams success. In her first full season with Cal, Mia was named given the Most Improved Player award as a result of her tremendous growth in her first full year of organized basketball and in her second year with CAL Mia was named the teams top defender and awarded with the Defensive Player of the Year award at the CAL Sports annual awards banquet.

Her leadership and presence as a defensive stalwart helped lead the girls team to multiple tournament championships and several 2nd places finishes during the 2016 season.

We are lucky enough to call Mia Leonard a CAL Cobra and are pleased to be able to acknowledge her for her tremendous growth on the court and are even more proud of the mature athlete she has become off the court.
