Winter Basketball Leagues
CAL Sports Academy Competitive Basketball League's primary goals are to raise the entire level of play for youth to high school players in the area by providing a fun, challenging, organized and yet creative, individual and team development program. There are many good club basketball programs that try to recruit the best talent and then head directly in to competition. We feel that CAL Sports Academy not only provides great competitive opportunities for all players, it also pwrovides much needed year-round development for players of all levels, ultimately leading to long-term success that prepares them to play for any coach at any level.
GRADES 2 & 3
GRADE ELIGIBILITY
2ND -- GRADE DIVISION
An athlete must be in the 2nd grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 8 on September 1, 2012.
3RD -- GRADE DIVISION
An athlete must be in the 3rd grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 9 on September 1, 2012.
Registration Starts: September 25th
Registration Ends: November 20th
Location for Coaches Meetings, Players Evaluations and Players Draft:
Montgomery County Performance Center, 110 Christopher Lane, Harleysville, PA 19438
November 20th:
• 4:00p – 4:30p: Mandatory Coaches Meeting (Room)
• 4:30p – 5:15p: All Players Evaluations (Drills|Scrimmages) |
• 5:15p – 6:00p: Players Draft (Room)
December 3rd: Start of League Games (Refer to Schedule - COMING SOON)
League Fee: $130
Volunteer head and assistant coaches are needed (no experience required). For volunteering, head coaches will receive 4 free passes to Friday Night Basketball (value at $60) and assistant coaches will receive 2 free basketball passes (value at $30). These passes can only be used at the completion of the season on February 5th. All assistance coaches will be assigned to team.

Head/Assistant Coaches Responsibilities: are to conduct practices, represent your team and most importantly teach the game of basketball. The Athletic Director will meet with each of the head coaches at the beginning of the season and will also be available during the season if you need assistance with coaching, practices, drills, etc…
Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, please check the website for updates or your emails.
Coaches and Parents, the official team rosters and/or updated schedule will be posted online on November 30th. All official leagues games will start on December 3rd, depending on the team your child was selected, you’ll need to view rosters to see what team your child was selected and then refer to the schedule to see what time practice / games starts. Uniform distribution will be on December 3rd (please arrive 20 minutes before practice / games).
