What is AAU?
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is one of the largest non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sports organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports programs. The AAU was founded in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. During its early years the AAU served as a leader in international sports representing the USA in the international sports federations. The AAU works closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games.
AAU Basketball is the highest level available in age group basketball. Playing AAU basketball will give the player the experience and instruction necessary to play at the next level and move them beyond the players that don't put in the time, effort, or gain the game experience needed to excel. Additionally travel AAU offers players exposure to college coaches at various AAU tournaments.
Our Mission: CAL Sports Academy was founded to provide positive alternative sport programs for adolescents. Our goals are to instill leadership qualities in each participant with “a can do” attitude by introducing developing sports training.
Our motto, “Strength through Sports”, applies to strength of mind, body, and spirit. Our academy focuses on integrity, credible sports education, and commitment to results that exceed expectations, and the belief that children need good role models both inside and outside of their homes.
All of our work is youth-centered and strives for the highest possible quality. We bring a developmental approach and a community-wide perspective to everything we do.
