Dear Corey, My daughter was at soccer practice last night and she was using some of the moves you have been teaching her and she just made some very good players freeze and look silly as she dribbled by them and shot and scored. So she gets in the car and says, "What Coach Corey is teaching me is really working, I am getting much more comfortable with the ball and things feel more natural." She had some great steals, moves (side to side and forwards and backwards) and shots last night...she took much harder shots and they were on target for a lot of goals. You've really helped her step up her game! Keep up the great work on her shot and if you can help her clean up her defensive work in the next few months that would be great too. She is now thinking more seriously about playing in college. Just wanted you to know how you have helped change her life in a positive way!

Hi Corey, I just wanted to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for the 5th grade AAU Coaches Lauren and Shannon. Already I can see them pushing my daughter hard to overcome her ball handling weaknesses and become a stronger, more confident player. They are doing a great job teaching her, and she’s coming away from practice eager to learn and do more. I’m so happy my daughter is at CAL. All the best

Dear Corey and Aaron, I wanted to let you know that I was fortunate enough to make the JV Basketball team at Christopher Dock. We had a scrimmage yesterday and I ended up starting, and scoring 10 points. I believe this is because of all the help that you have given me over the years, not only in basketball but also in life. Thank you for always having my best interest in mind. I am really looking forward to this upcoming AAU season.

Dear Coach Corey, I want to say thank you for all the things you taught me. I wanted to let you know that I made the varsity A-team at my school with Erin and Molly. I have been practicing my shooting formation to break my old habits. I think my shooting helped me get on the team! They are using me as the point guard. I had an amazing night tonight at CAL Sports AAU banquet. I am so honored to be part of such a wonderful organization. All the work that Coach Corey, Coach Dean, and everyone else puts into this program is amazing. It isn't just going to the gym to play basketball... It is making amazing friends who become like a family to you. I am so proud to be apart of CAL Sports Academy! Thank you so much Coach Corey!

Corey, My son had travel tryouts for Central Bucks 3rd grade travel team this week. We live in Horsham, so he is trying out for another township. He is only in 2nd gr, while this is 3rd gr travel, so when we get there everyone is taller than him and talking, as all the coaches doing tryouts know the kids. There was 28 kids, so I am thinking to myself, it is going to be tough to standout as he is avg to a little smaller for 2nd grade, so he is one of smallest kids there. It also seemed like the coaches knew who they wanted. They do 2 real basic dribbling drills, and my son is by far the best ball handler, but they cannot tell with 28 kids and the drills were so basic. They break into teams to scrimmage, and he was last 6 kids put on a team, like the little throw in player on a team. His team sat out first game, and the score in the game before them was like 4-2 and no one could score. Their team is now on the court and first time down the court Colin brings the ball up, and goes cross over, cross back and scores an easy layup. Coach eyes almost popped out. Next time down he goes behind back, does a spin move and scores the first 4 pts. He was dishing the ball off to open players, as he was only kid dribbling with his head up and scoring easily. The coaches were all over him the last hour of tryouts and I see them all talking and pointing at him. At the end, the coaches come over to me and were saying what a good player he was and they are excited for him to be on the team. He was def top 3 out of 28, and def best ball handler by far. The funny part is the coaches still do not know he is really only in 2nd grade and was one of top players. I am writing this not to brag about my son, but to say all that hard work during your Monday clinics, summer camps and now Sunday morning with HS kids is really paying off. You guys have done a great job in developing his skills. He was really nervous going into tryouts, but was so happy on ride home as he now realizes when he actually plays with kids close to his age, he can do so well from all the training you and Coach Aaron provide. I appreciate all your time working with my son, especially on Sunday mornings!! Dan O.

Hi Coach, At the end of the last AAU tournament I mentioned that you and Cal Sports were mentioned in Douglas’s autobiography. I am including the quote because it captures the confidence he has gained by training and playing at CAL Sports. “Another accomplishment is that I ran a mile under 8 minutes, 7:32 to be exact. I was hoping for this for 2 years now, and it finally came. I give credit to Coach Corey Lord(CAL Sports founder) who made me get faster. I came 1st in the class, and 14th in the school. I beat my old score by 40 seconds”. As a parent I know that Douglas has gained a great deal of skill and confidence by playing and training through CAL Sports. Thanks for all your time and effort!

The girls AAU Team did great on Sat/Sun….. still so much more to learn and improve upon, but they seemed as if they had been together much longer than just the past month! We love Joel and Lauren and know they couldn’t be in better hands! Can’t wait to see them get better and better with each week that passes!

Hi Corey - I want to thank you and your staff for a wonderful event at the Sixers.  I can only imagine all the hard work, dedication, long hours and patience that goes in to planning such an event.  My family enjoyed it very much!  At the end of the night when our daughter finally laid her little head down, she was still smiling from ear-to-ear.
