September 25, 2016by Gabriel Houser, Speed and Agility Student at CAL Sports AcademyIn 2013, I went to my doctor’s appointment and found out that I was clinically obese. I decided it was time to take action. I began taking classes at CAL Sports in November 2013. My first class was speed and agility and I was very uncomfortable the whole time. First Impressions

Connor Lokuta - Basketball PlayerAugust 24, 2016by Lisa LokutaMother of Connor Lokuta, CAL Sports Academy Summer Camp Participant and Basketball PlayerMy first impression of CAL Sports Academy was when I called for information and Coach Corey called me back within the hour. He then proceeded to spend half an hour explaining the philosophy of CAL Sports and how he developed basketball players. I knew that I had to give it a try for my son, Connor. Connor began his CAL Sports journey in June of this year and wanted to improve his skills and really learn the game of basketball. We started with a clinic and one week of camp; thinking he would only go to one or two weeks of camp. To our pleasant surprise, he ended up wanting to attend every week of basketball camp this summer.

What CAL Means to Me

Tyler Saponaro CAL Sports AuthletJuly 22, 2016by Lynn Saponaro-Uknis Mother of Tyler SaponaroPeriodically I check in with my son, Tyler, to find out how he’s feeling about his training at CAL Sports Academy. Today, I asked him, “What does going to CAL for basketball training mean to you.” His reply was immediate.“Mom, I feel like I matter here even though I’m still learning. It’s the place I can go where the coaches don’t make me feel bad about myself. They don’t embarrass me when I do something wrong. They are always on my side and tell me what I’m doing well and what I need help with.
